Webhooks from payment gateways, delivery platforms, and commerce systems must be processed exactly once — duplicate processing creates duplicate orders, charges, or notifications. We implement webhook signature verification, idempotency keys, and database-level deduplication that prevents duplicate processing regardless of retry frequency.
High-volume operations — bulk product imports, order batch processing, real-time inventory sync — can exhaust API rate limits and cause failures mid-operation. We implement rate limit detection, request queuing with BullMQ or Redis, and batch processing strategies that respect third-party limits.
REST APIs use OAuth2, API keys, JWT tokens, HMAC signatures, and proprietary authentication schemes. We implement proper token storage, automatic refresh for expiring OAuth tokens, and secure credential management that keeps API keys out of codebases.
