CaseBasix is an EdTech platform helping aspiring management consultants prepare for case interviews at top-tier firms. The core differentiator is AI-powered voice interview simulation using GPT-4o Realtime API — enabling realistic case interview practice with immediate feedback, without needing a human practice partner.
The project required GPT-4o Realtime API voice interview sessions with structured case formats, performance analytics tracking across interview dimensions, GMAT preparation with adaptive difficulty, configurable subscription engine with Stripe, and community forum features.
The completed platform is our most technically ambitious AI product — combining voice AI, real-time feedback, adaptive content, and SaaS subscription management in a single production Next.js application.

GPT-4o Realtime enables true voice-to-voice AI conversation — we integrated it with WebRTC audio, structured case formats in session context, and reliable connection management for real-time voice sessions.
McKinsey, BCG, and Bain follow specific interview formats, so we structured the AI's conduct to follow authentic case formats including prompting for the right response types at each stage.
Post-interview feedback on structure, communication, and quantitative reasoning required full transcript analysis, so we built a GPT-4o feedback system scoring interviews across consulting-relevant dimensions.
CaseBasix required configurable tier pricing, session quotas, feature gates, and promotional pricing — all handled through Stripe Billing with usage tracking and tier enforcement.
Real-time voice sessions, interview state, progress tracking, and subscription status required careful state management, so we implemented Redux Toolkit with RTK Query for server state.
The Node.js backend managing voice sessions and API orchestration was containerised with Docker and deployed on Railway with health monitoring for a production voice AI backend.
