Preparing for consulting assessments has never been more demanding. The BCG Consulting Career Assessment (CCA) and the McKinsey Solve Game test you across dimensions that standard prep material simply doesn’t cover — personality fit, numerical reasoning, and behavioral judgment under pressure. That’s why we built three distinct quiz experiences, each targeting a specific layer of these assessments.
1. CCA Competency Profile Quiz (Personality)
Most candidates underestimate the personality section of the CCA. It uses a forced-choice format — you’re presented with statements and must rank which describes you best. There’s no “select A” shortcut.
Our CCA Personality Quiz replicates this format exactly. For each question, you select your most fitting statement from a group, then your next-best from what remains. Your choices are scored across seven competency dimensions:
- Leadership
- Communication
- Adaptability
- Empathy
- Teamwork
- Time Management
- Cognitive Style
At the end, you receive a full Competency Profile Report — showing your score per trait, your band (Low / Average / Strong), and a written description of what your pattern suggests. The report is printable as a PDF, making it easy to share with a coach or review before your actual assessment.
2. CCA Numerical Reasoning Quiz
The numerical section of the CCA doesn’t just test math — it tests your ability to interpret data, reason through unfamiliar formats, and work quickly. Standard MCQ quizzes fall short here.
Our CCA Numerical Quiz introduces question types designed to match the real assessment’s variety:
- Standard MCQ (single and multi-select)
- Image Select — choose the correct chart or diagram
- Calendar Select — pick the right date based on constraints
- Node Connect — draw connections between concepts
- Fill-Box / Scheduling — drag values into a schedule or table
- Chart Adjust — modify a chart to match a target state
- Pie Adjust — drag pie segments to reflect correct proportions
- Text Input — short written answers
Both Practice Mode (instant feedback after each question) and Test Mode (timed, exam-condition simulation) are available. Your results include a time-analytics scatter chart showing how long you spent per question and where you lost time.
3. McKinsey Solve Simulation — Sustainable Future Lab
The McKinsey Solve Game is unlike any traditional assessment. It drops you into an ecosystem simulation and asks you to make judgment calls — not solve equations. The Sustainable Future Lab (SFL) scenario is one of the most common variants candidates encounter.
Our SFL simulation presents you with a series of behavioral scenario questions inside a cinematic, immersive interface. You’ll work through:
- Scenario-based single and multi-select questions
- Drag-and-drop priority ranking — order your actions from highest to lowest priority
- Contextual feedback explaining what your choices suggest about your decision-making approach
The simulation comes with full background context (scenario setup, mission briefing) before the questions begin — matching exactly how McKinsey structures the real game.
How We Built It
These quizzes aren’t powered by an off-the-shelf quiz platform. Every interaction, scoring engine, and result dashboard was built from scratch using a modern frontend stack:
- React 18 + TypeScript — component-driven UI with full type safety
- Vite — fast build tooling and local development
- Tailwind CSS — utility-first styling for consistent, responsive design
- Framer Motion — smooth animations and page transitions
- Zustand — lightweight global state management for quiz sessions
- Recharts — interactive charts for time analytics and score visualizations
- @dnd-kit — accessible, smooth drag-and-drop for priority ranking and scheduling questions
- Konva / React Konva — canvas-based rendering for node-connect and chart-adjust question types
- js-yaml — quiz content loaded from YAML files, making it easy to author and update questions without touching code
- jsPDF + html2canvas — PDF export for competency profile reports
- Vercel — deployment and hosting
Quiz content is fully decoupled from the UI. Each quiz is a YAML file — defining questions, question types, correct answers, explanations, scoring weights, timer settings, and free-version limits. This makes it straightforward to create new quizzes or update existing ones without any code changes.
Want Something Like This for Your Platform?
The quiz engine powering these assessments — interactive question types, real-time scoring, competency profiling, timed modes, and result dashboards — was built entirely in-house. If you’re a company, coaching firm, HR team, or EdTech platform looking for something similar, we’d love to talk.
We build custom assessment and quiz tools tailored to your use case — whether that’s recruitment screening, training evaluation, certification prep, or candidate profiling.
